Keep a notebook for this course and nothing else. You will be offered prompts and questions to sit with, and you will want somewhere to put them.
Free, self-paced
Twenty-one lessons, and the whole of my audiobook, given freely. Take them at your own pace.
Thank you for coming to The Call of the Soul. I am delighted to have you with me.
This course is built on my book, The Elegance of Simplicity: A Wisdom Teacher's Epic Journey to Awareness. It is designed to give you access to your own soul's epic journey, and to guide you on the way to remembering who you really are.
The Elegance of Simplicity is the story of an encounter between two women: one in search of answers, the other having already completed her spiritual journey. Guía, the profound, whimsical character in the story, takes us through her passage into consciousness, from before birth to enlightenment. As the adventure of her life unfolds, you become one with the knowledge-seeking narrator, on a voyage into the nature of human beings that leads to the source of all we know and perceive.
Across these twenty-one lessons you receive the entire audiobook, chapter by chapter, alongside a short video from me. Spend as much or as little time as you like.
You will get out of this course what you put into it. You always reap what you sow.
The course is taught in English.
Keep a notebook for this course and nothing else. You will be offered prompts and questions to sit with, and you will want somewhere to put them.
Twenty-one lessons, each with a video and one or two audio chapters. The course is linear, so take them in order. Decide your rhythm — one a day, one every two days, one a week — and put it in your calendar as a gift to yourself.
I will invite you to think, which is very different from having thoughts. Thinking begins in confusion: the state of not knowing, honestly, without manipulation or purpose.
To think, you must accept the state of confusion without resistance. It is also essential not to be a prisoner of understanding. If we accept non-comprehension as the starting point of authentic thinking, we cross the limits imposed by the paradoxes we will meet. Those limits are an illusion, and yet they appear so real to us. Most of the effort is in accepting a paradox without understanding it.
Each language gives access to a particular world. Doctors have their own language, which gives them access to practising medicine. Lawyers operate in their own world because of their own language. The language I use may be new, and at first confusing. That very language will give you access to an elevation of consciousness.
When you first learn something, you will meet intellectual laziness. We live in a world that is shallow and superficial, where we want everything now, with no effort. Do not quit. You will become fluent. I promise.
Finally, to think consciously, never draw conclusions, seek solutions, or reach for answers. That need for certainty stops all investigation and closes off the experience of consciousness. Any conclusion puts an end to the adventure.
Here is your first paradox. This course is simple. Very simple. But make no mistake: its simplicity is profound. Your biggest difficulty will be not complicating it.
This course is my gift to the global elevation of consciousness.
